The S stands for speed, and the new iPhone 3G S has made some great speed improvements over the previous phone. The phone looks the same as the existing iPhone 3G but the performance is much better, making it so much better in use.

New features include: Faster CPU, new internal compass, better camera, more storage, iPhone OS 3.0, video recording.

There's an intelligent Multi-Touch keyboard that predicts words as you type for easy texting, cut/copy/paste.

MMS has finally been added to the iPhone, so you can take a photo, video or voice memo and message it to someone easily. The previous iPhone didn't have MMS because Steve Jobs couldn't understand why people wouldn't just use e-mail for free, but users moaned about the lack of MMS and the addition of the feature should be welcomed.

The screen has an oleophobic coating to decrease fingerprint smears.

8Another excellent product from Apple. It's a shame it didn't come with turn by turn GPS navigation, but I expect they'll be some aftermarket software for that.

9Apple products are cool, and this new iPhone shows how good a product they can produce. I get about two days of battery life out of mine with light to moderate usage before I have to recharge.

7The 3G S is finally a half decent phone, but in my opinion Apple is just catching up with competitors, and the features added, like the decent camera, are what the competitors had already.

10I looked at other smartphones, but everyone told me to get an iPhone, and I have not regretted it. Everything is fast, there are some great apps, and I find it easy to use.

7I do like my 3GS but I still find it very annoying that it does not support Flash. Seeing a load of blue squares and question marks where there should be Flash is very annoying.

9Brilliant phone. I decided to upgrade from my iPhone 3G and this phone is so much nice to use. If you are on a limited budget then you may need to think carefully about the upgrade as the iPhone 3G is still a decent phone, but the 3G S is so much slicker.

8S for speed and it's a noticeable speed improvement. For max battery life I advise keeping the brightness to about 10%, I put mine on auto-brightness. When you're out turn off wi-fi.

9This phone is so much faster, especially rendering web pages, so if you use internet access a lot, then the upgrade to 3G S is definitely owrth it. Everything is much faster, opening apps, the camera, the screen autorotating etc.
